The Untold Edition — what a project huh? It all started with a vague idea. Then it strung out into collaborations and a lot of backend work. It took a lot of deciding WHO I want to work with and for what reason, which meant turning down some influential people who had designs that didn’t quite fit the generosity that was an unspoken part of this project. It tumbled into one event and then another and then another. And every event was a positive feedback loop, a learning process, a growing of my organizational, professional and collaborative skills to combine …

The blog documenting my journey as I complete a Masters of Visual Arts from University of the Arts London, 2017-2019
Tutorial no. 5 (I think this is the fifth one…)
Post-Unit-1 submission tutorial with Jonathan Kearney I’ve wanted to do the obligatory tutorial write-up for a while… but the reason it took me so long to get around to it is that I was a bit… overwhelmed. I know validation shouldn’t be needed, and isn’t required for art to be art. But it is DEFINITELY motivating to hear encouraging words from the people whose opinion you value. This year has been so tumultuous. Forget this year, it was 2008 when I found myself in an old university, bumping along in a rickety bus to reach it daily, forced to cross …
Still processing….
I want to write. I want to update my reflective blog. I do. I have this backlog of posts cluttered in the drafts section. But at the moment I’m kind of overwhelmed. I’m hungover from the excitement of the latest ‘The Untold Edition’ event. I honestly can’t believe it worked out the way it did. When we envision an outcome for our art, we hope against hope it’ll come true and, more often than not, it doesnt! But how should we react when it goes above and beyond our vision? How should we react when the art goes beyond what …

This is an ongoing informal blog about some artists who may have inspired me or I may have researched further. Yayoi Kusama: I researched Yayoi Kusama’s work alot for my research paper. I don’t even know where to begin describing how she inspires my work. Not only was her fame propelled by instagram but she creates these installations which are literally the reflection of digimodernism. I wrote alot about it in my research paper so will hark back to that if I need inspiration. Narcissus garden Infinity mirrored rooms obliteration room Jim Bachor: Bachor is impressed by the long history of …
The clocks are striking thirteen
This exhibition really resonated with me, and somehow, I think it may have been the reason the concept of post-truth took hold in my mind. The first sentence in George Orwell’s book is: It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen. – George Orwell, 1984 This is what the theme represented: I love that quote by Rumi. It’s divine. The exhibition itself was a motley of mediums and art, some grotesque, some cultural, some tragic, all evocative. The flickering TV screens were reflective of the information overload we witness in our society. And the …
