Kehkashan is a Pakistani artist and writer. Her work explores surreal and speculative elements deriving from her subcontinental roots and middle-eastern experiences. She loves curating communities, and founded an award-winning project, The Untold Edition, to blur the lines between insider and outsider art. In 2019 she graduated with distinction from an MA Fine Arts program at The University of the Arts London, and her thesis work was acquired by the UAL collection. Her work has been displayed in multiple group exhibitions in Jeddah, Karachi and London.
She won the Salam Award for Imaginative Fiction in 2019 and now has stories forthcoming in several magazines and anthologies listed below. She currently works full-time as the Senior Librarian at the British International School of Jeddah using this post to foster a love for reading in the next generation of students in a city where they lack access to public libraries. In her free time she volunteers as a slush reader for the award winning science fiction/ fantasy magazine Clarkesworld. She lives with her husband and three young children in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
