Kehkashan is a Pakistani artist and writer. Her work explores surreal and speculative elements deriving from her subcontinental roots and middle-eastern experiences. She loves curating communities, and founded an award-winning project, The Untold Edition, to blur the lines between insider and outsider art. In 2019 she graduated with distinction from an MA Fine Arts program at The University of the Arts London, and her thesis work was acquired by the UAL collection. Her work has been displayed in multiple group exhibitions in Jeddah, Karachi and London.
She won the Salam Award for Imaginative Fiction in 2019 and now has stories forthcoming in several magazines and anthologies listed below. She currently works part-time as a Revisions Editor at Manuscripts LLC and part time with Fraag Games to write the narrative for Pakistan’s first ever historical fantasy video game. In her free time she volunteers as a slush reader for the award winning science fiction/ fantasy magazine Clarkesworld. She is a founding member, editor and art director at Tasavvur Magazine–a new magazine for South Asian speculative fiction authors. She lives with her husband and three young children in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
