I remember Jonathan’s emphasis from the first on making sure I include my Karachi projects in the final show. The best way I could think of conveying their spirit and allowing people to experience them immersively, despite being an online student, was to create an expressionist video projection on chiffon. Chiffon is a light material and experimenting with it showed me that it handles a projection very well, even in daylight. Ideally, I would like to hang it somewhere people can walk around it, causing it to move and causing the projections to play across their body (since the images go through the chiffon). But, since this is a collaborative individual show, we’ll have to see what works best then. I’ve put the video together using snippets of footage from different events, and here it is:
