About me

An MA Fine Art Digital student at The University of the Arts London, Kehkashan’s work explores the positive potential of public art in the post-truth world. She has deployed a contemporary twist on mosaic art to create unique hybrids of painting, sculpture and broken glass tesserae termed ‘Iridescent Alloys’ which represent the atomization of individuals and the constant dialogue and reformulation of art in the digimodernist era.

As a social media influencer and founder of two popular groups on Facebook, she is concerned with leveraging her influence for humanitarian efforts and encouraging others to do the same. Her public art projects in Pakistan alongside NGOs (such as UNWomen International, Akhuwat Foundation, etc) aim to empower underprivileged or abused women and children and narrate the untold stories of Karachi. Inspired by writers such as George Orwell and Margaret Atwood and art such as Kusama’s ‘Narcissus Garden’ and David Krigley’s ‘Really Good’, she believes in the power of public art to provoke thought and transform communities.

Kehkashan has exhibited in multiple group shows in London and Jeddah and has been featured by magazines such as YOU!Newsletter Jeddah and Vogue Amour Official in Pakistan. She aims to create interactive art installations based on the Iridescent Alloys, to encourage the audience to introspect about their impact on society
