Some Social Media Highlights

The blog has definitely been an important component of reflecting on and then proceeding with my artistic journey. But I usually turn to the blog when something definitive happens, after giving it thought. I don’t usually litter it with the random thoughts and inspirations that occur in daily life. And I think those are an important part of the process too! So, with that in mind, you could say my social media pages are like little sub-blogs. And often times, I use them to record bits and pieces of the journey that help me write down proper blogposts later in …

The Untold Edition — approaching the finale (sort of)

The Untold Edition — approaching the finale (sort of)

The Untold Edition — what a project huh? It all started with a vague idea. Then it strung out into collaborations and a lot of backend work. It took a lot of deciding WHO I want to work with and for what reason, which meant turning down some influential people who had designs that didn’t quite fit the generosity that was an unspoken part of this project. Tutorial no. 5 (I think this is the fifth one…)

Post-Unit-1 submission tutorial with Jonathan Kearney I’ve wanted to do the obligatory tutorial write-up for a while… but the reason it took me so long to get around to it is that I was a bit… overwhelmed. Still processing….

I want to write. I want to update my reflective blog. I do. I have this backlog of posts cluttered in the drafts section. But at the moment I’m kind of overwhelmed. I’m hungover from the excitement of the latest ‘The Untold Edition’ event. I honestly can’t believe it worked out the way it did. When we envision an outcome for our art, we hope against hope it’ll come true and, more often than not, it doesnt! But how should we react when it goes above and beyond our vision? How should we react when the art goes beyond what …

Some artists of interest

This is an ongoing informal blog about some artists who may have inspired me or I may have researched further. Yayoi Kusama: I researched Yayoi Kusama’s work alot for my research paper. I don’t even know where to begin describing how she inspires my work. Not only was her fame propelled by instagram but she creates these installations which are literally the reflection of digimodernism. I wrote alot about it in my research paper so will hark back to that if I need inspiration. Narcissus garden Infinity mirrored rooms obliteration room Jim Bachor: Bachor is impressed by the long history of …
