Processing Unit 2 Brief

Processing Unit 2 Brief

So… Unit 2 is underway already. We’re actually approaching the final term! THE FINAL TERM! I can not believe I’m graduating from an MA I thought I would never be able to be a part of, two years ago! <– convoluted sentence, but you get it right? MAVA Fine Art Digital Unit 2 Year 2 201819 assessment brief (1) That ^ is the unit 2 brief. And the following is what we are expected to have accomplished by the time Unit 2 draws to a close: Present a resolved body of original creative practice that has evidenced the systematic enhancement …

Unit 1 result

Unit 1 result

The highlight of last year was definitely the Unit 1 result. As an artist, most of the time you work without validation. So much of the stuff you make or the stuff you do just drifts by. Even with collaborative events, though they connected so many people and touched so many lives, there is no tangible validation that accompanies them. And that’s okay. But I can’t deny, that it definitely felt good to get an A-. When I opened the unit 1 result I was greeted by a B, and then I scrolled down and found a whole lot of …

Karachi Biennale submission

Karachi Biennale submission

Here’s the really sad thing, I did not win any of the competitions I excitedly applied for (though I did get shortlisted for the Karachi Biennale Emerging Artists’ prize). Later the same month we made a trip to Dubai and then onto Pakistan where I had to organize and execute three days of events over a course of two weeks. Then back to Jeddah for an exhibit and immediately off to New York, after which I had guests till the end of feb. And the moment my guests left, it was time to travel to …

The Batsford prize submission

Hello reader. The blog admittedly has been quite forlorn of late, and there are many reasons for that, but the most relevant and important reason is that I have been possessed. Yes, possessed with an urge to finally create the Iridescent Alloy I have been dreaming of this whole time. Do you know the feeling, when you know exactly what you want to make, and your fingers are itching to make it so much that you can barely wait for each layer to dry let alone sit and write a coherent thought on the blog? I aimed to create what …
